Hey everyone. Obviously, some changes have occurred to our online presence, and this has happened for a number of reasons, most of which are just a result of the fact that since Theological Pub is new, we’re still tweaking things as we discover what exactly people are wanting Theological Pub to be.

We’ve learned that people are looking for more of an in-person experience than an online experience. Our first site was geared towards the idea that debates and discussions would continue online, and that participants would like to have a very active role in determining discussion topics. Thus, we had forums and polls available. The first site also gave us the ability to email all of the members with news about meetings and topics.

As it turns out, most of the communication about Theological Pub has been through word of mouth, and the preferred means of discussing and even proposing topics has been in person, rather than online. Since most of those online features weren’t free, we’ve opted for a less feature-laden, but free, site.

Here, you will still be able to find updates about meeting dates and times, as well as discussion topics, and you’ll still also be able to discuss and suggest topics online by posting comments to blog entries – and you won’t need to create a membership.

We hope the new site will continue to meet your needs, and as always, please continue to offer your suggestions on how we can improve Theological Pub.

Peace!
